Library presentations—why would I want to do these? This week Peggy and Larry talk about doing library presentations as an author.
Peggy talks about the advantages and benefits of doing a library presentation, or better than that, multiple library presentations. Some of the benefits are honing your speaking skills in front of a friendly crowd, perfecting your presentation, getting a feel for what  your readers want to know about you, build your mailing list and help expose  your name and your book to the reading public.

What’s the best way to approach libraries? Do you do it in person or is a letter or email better? We talk about the in’s and out’s, pros and cons of talking with librarians.
When is the best time to approach a librarian….the sooner the better? What do you talk about? Make your presentation stand out from the crowd. Not just a boring reading, do more and get more attendees. Use the library presentation to build your list.
Peggy and Larry talk about how to leverage your library talk, and use it to market your other activities. We talk about ways to get around the rule that some libraries maintain of “no selling” on the premises.
Library presentations can be a great source for list-building. Always have your attendees sign up for your blog or a free newsletter, or other free product.
